Where the run starts

At a beach resort a week after their wedding, Tom and his new wife Ava settle in by the pool, only to find that her mother, Lexi Luna, has arrived unannounced. Lexi says she could not let her only daughter begin married life without being close by, and she has taken the adjoining room, linked to theirs by a door, for whatever might come up. He is aware that his mother-in-law is strikingly attractive, and that she expects the pair not to make it to the end of the week.

Episodes 1 and 2

By the close of the first episode, Ava has gone to take a bath, Lexi has found Tom alone, and she says she came to make sure her daughter is cared for in every way, not to lounge. Two episodes in, Tom admits he should not be in the room, Lexi answers that Ava is the reason it is fun, and the connecting door becomes the thing none of them mention. She admits the wait began at the wedding.
