The Chief's Private Detail follows Chief Vera Lancaster and Cole, the rookie officer nobody wanted, across a run of night shifts governed by one rule: no officer touches the chief. The five episodes test that rule. The register is tense and flirtatious, with authority in every exchange.

Where the run starts

In a police station on the evening a new chief takes over, one rule is announced to every officer: lay a hand on the chief and lose the badge, and face charges too. Chief Vera Lancaster is the person who made it. Cole is a rookie nobody wanted to partner with, and he stands in front of her after hours. Vera wants a night detail and a driver who does not flinch. Cole wants to keep his first job and prove the rest of the building wrong about him.

Episodes 1 and 2

By the close of the first episode, she has placed him on her night detail, and she has explained her choice: everyone else in the building looks at the floor when she walks by, and he looks back. She points out that the policy bars his hands but says nothing about hers. The second episode puts the two on the road through the first full night, where she keeps testing how far the policy reaches.

Who carries it
