Where the run starts

Days before the biggest signing of the year, a client named Richard makes his position clear: he only does business with couples. Gia, an executive in her prime, was meant to bring her husband, the company's chief, but he pulls out. With the contract on the line, she picks the newest associate, a man in his twenties who is spending his week working and talking to his girlfriend about the intimidating boss. Gia wants the deal. The associate wants to survive three days of it.

By the close of the first episode, he has packed a suit and joined the trip as her husband, and the cover holds through the first dinner, where the pair are toasted as newlyweds and he is asked how long they have been together. Gia coaches him to breathe and keep up. The second episode deepens the arrangement as the two share a suite, and the act starts to feel less like an act.
