Where the run starts

In a house with one spare room and a mortgage to match, a homeowner has put the room up for rent. By mid-afternoon it seems settled: a woman showed up early that morning, made her case persuasively and is already making herself at home, calling for a towel from the shower. Then Sonia knocks, expecting to see the room. She is told it is gone, and she asks to be heard anyway. Everyone wants the room. The landlord wants his finances covered without anything complicated.

Episodes 1 and 2

By the close of the first episode, Sonia is inside and the contest is open. The call from his girlfriend, who got off work early and is twenty minutes away, goes out on speaker, which both women overhear. Two episodes in, the girlfriend is still on her way, the tenant already in place speaks up, and Sonia has told him she will outbid whatever the first woman offered.
