Where the run starts

In a home garage a few days before a car show, a mechanic takes delivery of a 1969 Camaro that several shops have already failed to fix. The car belongs to the boyfriend of his new stepsister, who arrives with a compliment about his tools and a reminder that their mother says he can fix anything for family. The mechanic wants to finish the job and keep the peace in the new family. His stepsister wants the car repaired and has another plan for the same hours.

Episodes 1 and 2

By the close of the first episode, the engine problem is solved with surprising speed. His stepsister has brought up the work that can be done inside the car, and suggests they meet again the next morning. Two episodes in, she is annoyed he arrived late, the boyfriend Brody calls to ask whether the repair is done, and the mechanic says it is nearly there, while she asks for the car's back seat.
