Where the run starts

On an overnight company trip by train, an employee walks into what he thinks is the wrong compartment and discovers the boss and the boss's wife, Veronica Parker, a woman he has thought about more than he should. His ticket says Compartment 12, which turns out to be theirs: the boss tells him to get out, and the wife points out that he cannot sleep in a corridor. He is allowed to stay. The boss counts him as a favorite. Veronica privately says she disagrees, and asks him to warm her up.

Episodes 1 and 2

By the close of the first episode, the boss is asleep, the invitation has been issued and the employee is aware of exactly how much he stands to lose. Two episodes in, the boss wakes from a bad dream, Veronica reassures him, and the train reaches a station. She sends the employee to the platform to fetch coffee, then changes her mind and asks him to help with the luggage instead. Left alone for a few minutes before the train departs, she reminds him that she is his boss's wife and that he addresses her as ma'am.
