The Gods Gave Me My Father's Wife

Where the run starts

In the royal hall on the day of his return, Prince Theron meets the queen his father has just married and recognizes her at once: Lysandra is the woman who has visited his dreams for months. King Evian presents her as his wife and expects the two to get along. Around them the court keeps up its ceremony, and an oracle waits at the room's edge while Theron has to hold a son's manners over a very different kind of recognition.

Episodes 1 and 2

By the close of the first episode, the oracle has warned the court of a serpent in the royal marriage bed, the king has had her removed, and Theron and Lysandra have admitted to each other that the dreams were shared. Two episodes in, the picture widens: Lysandra explains that a goddess of love came to her as well, and that the prophecy the king heard was only half of it. Near the end of the second episode the two are shut inside a chamber the gods seem to have sealed, and the question of obedience is on the table.
