My Girlfriend's Mom Read My Texts

Where the run starts

During a holiday stretch at a lakeside family home, Ethan forgets his phone on the counter, and his girlfriend Mia's mother, Jessie, finds it. The messages he sent to his friends describe her in terms he would never say aloud, and Jessie has read all forty-three. Mia is busy getting ready to head to the lake. Ethan wants to take it all back. Jessie wants him to prove that he meant every word.

Episodes 1 and 2

By the close of the first episode, Jessie has found him in the doorway of the bathroom in her robe, asked whether he would withdraw any of it, and heard that he meant every word. One message says he would do anything she told him to, and she quotes it. Mia calls for a towel from the shower. Halfway through the second, Mia leaves for an errand and asks him to keep her mother company, and Jessie turns the exchange into a demand.
