Stepmom Summer Fling

Where the run starts

At a rented beach house early in a summer by the shore, a man named Slade is introduced to the family of his girlfriend, Gretchen. Her stepmother Holly jokes about the title, and Slade admits he had pictured someone entirely different. Holly, a confident adult woman with a husband in the house, seems to have her own plans. Gretchen's best friend Brittany joins them, and a casual question about whether Slade looks familiar sets a more awkward line of thought in motion. The boardwalk and a Ferris wheel are where the summer plays out.

Episodes 1 and 2

By the close of the first episode, Slade has learned that both Holly and Brittany remember him from somewhere other than this beach, and Holly has made it plain that she is open to more. Halfway through the second, a club near Montauk comes up: Holly asks him to keep her past private and promises a reward. He agrees. Then Gretchen refuses the Ferris wheel and sends him up with Holly, and the ride ends the episode with a view that has nothing to do with the boardwalk.
