Where the run starts

At the start of a summer in a large family house, Kyle, an adult man, meets Skye, the grown woman his father married last month. His father is leaving for the season and asks him to look after her, a request that sounds like a joke from the first minute. Skye is playful, confident and in charge of the household she has just entered. She is also quick to notice when he looks. Kyle wants a quiet few months and no complications, and he tries to do the polite thing by keeping his eyes on the floor. Skye sets simple terms about where he sits and what he is allowed to touch.

Episodes 1 and 2

By the close of the first episode, the house has one working rule and one bathroom door that does not shut, and Kyle has noticed both. Two episodes in, her best friend arrives with wine and a cheerful opinion about how the summer should go. Kyle walks out to avoid seeing too much, and the open door tells him he saw anyway. Skye tells him to say stop, and he does not manage it.
