Where the run starts

In a deadly game played over a closed course with a single gate, players must reach the exit to be freed, and any hunter who aids a player dies alongside. Eli, a doctor, is hurt and running, chased by Delilah, the hunter assigned to him, who keeps a weapon at his back. Eli wants to survive, and he offers to treat an injury in exchange for a head start. Delilah is bound by the rules, but she agrees to count five seconds.

Episodes 1 and 2

By the close of the first episode, the game has ordered Delilah to kill him, and she has let him go for five seconds before the order lands. Halfway through the second, Eli has turned back from the gate to reach her, giving up his own escape. The rules announce that she must kill him inside five seconds or lose her own life too, and the countdown reaches one with her eyes on his.
