Where the run starts

At the start of the run, within a shared family household, Simona Rossi is an adult trying to steady a life that keeps wobbling. A string of boyfriends with questionable motives has left her wary, and her parents watch her closely, quick to offer advice she did not request. She wants independence and a relationship that does not end badly. The man closest to her, her stepbrother, is a constant presence and a person she has always filed under family, which is what makes the first flicker of attraction so unwelcome.

Episodes 1 and 2

By the close of the first episode, the run has laid out its pieces: Simona's reputation for bad choices, the supervision she resents and the stepbrother who sees her more clearly than anyone else. Two episodes in, the attraction has become something Simona notices and tries to dismiss, which gives the series its title: a pull she judges wrong and cannot fully call so. The setup stays general on purpose, because the weight of the story lies in the episodes still to come.
