Snowed-In with Stepmom

Where the run starts

On the drive to his girlfriend's family home, Theo and his girlfriend pass through a wall of snow, and the roads and trains close behind them, leaving everyone stuck until Tuesday. The house is larger than he expected and belongs to her father and his wife, Amber Murphy, whose taste fills every room. Theo, nervous about meeting the family, is caught looking at her when he arrives. Amber notices at once and does not hide that she has. Over wine at dinner, with the storm outside, she studies him with interest, and the girlfriend, absorbed in showing him the neighborhood, sees nothing.

Episodes 1 and 2

By the close of the first episode, Amber has put a pointed question to Theo directly over a second glass, and he is aware that the weather has given him nowhere to go. Two episodes in, the next morning finds Theo caught at a bad moment, and Amber tells him his girlfriend has gone to look for him, that the house is about to blow up, and that he can follow her immediately or regret declining all week long.
