Family Reunion: My New Step-Cousin

Where the run starts

On a sunny afternoon at a ranch hosting a large family reunion, Lea meets Jake, a quiet new step-cousin she has heard a lot about. Her boyfriend is in the paddock, absorbed by a colt, and has little attention to spare. Jake is shy and doesn't expect to be noticed. Lea wants some fun, and she points out that they are barely related at all. The relatives are pleased to see the pair talking, and no one thinks to ask why.

Episodes 1 and 2

By the close of the first episode, the mothers have suggested a morning ride so that Lea can show him the ranch, and she has told him she has wanted a ride all day. Two episodes in, she is late to a meeting and her boyfriend is calling around for her. Halfway through the second, he is twenty feet away, and Lea points out that, since they are only cousins spending time, there is nothing to worry about, so long as nobody makes any noise.
