Where the run starts

In a home where nobody quite says what they feel, Kasia is stuck in a relationship that keeps letting her down. Her boyfriend is unfaithful, and every new betrayal makes the decision to leave look more obvious and harder to act on. At the same time, her thoughts keep returning to her stepfather, a presence in the house she cannot stop noticing. She wants to be done with the boyfriend and cannot explain why she is not, and she wants to stop thinking about the other man and cannot manage that either. The setup is small: one household, one troubled couple, and one attraction that complicates everything around it.

The first episode establishes the pattern, with the betrayals piling up on one side and the quiet pull toward the house on the other. By the second episode, the attraction has stopped being something she can pass off as a passing thought, and each choice she makes begins to answer to it. Across those two opening chapters the story stays with her point of view, giving the situation time before anything is decided.
