Where the run starts

On a Thursday afternoon at his house, Marcus opens the door to Sienna, the woman his adult son Tyler dumped a week earlier. She has come to pick up a box of things she left behind, and Tyler will be at the lake until Sunday. Marcus offers water and sympathy and admits his son is a fool. Sienna spent two years practically living there, and she is tired of being treated as if she were never family. She wants to hurt Tyler and has realized Marcus is the one person who could. Marcus wants to be kind and not much else, at least at first.

Episodes 1 and 2

By the close of the first episode, a request for help with her back and a remark about being noticed have crossed a line, and the arrival of another visitor interrupts them. Two episodes in, Tyler's new girlfriend turns up and tells Sienna to leave, and Marcus calls his son a bigger fool than he thought. Tyler announces he is driving up that same night, and Sienna answers that they had better hurry.
