Where the run starts

In the hours after midnight, Mila writes down thoughts she cannot say aloud, beginning with the admission that she wants her sister's boyfriend. That trust from her sister is exactly what makes it dangerous. When the two of them end up alone, the boyfriend notices the journal, asks what she is hiding and reads the effect his questions have on her. He tells her that things with his partner have been strange lately and that the pair had discussed an open relationship, though nothing came of it.

Episodes 1 and 2

By the close of the first episode, he has confessed to being preoccupied with someone, and the question of who that is hangs over the scene. Two episodes in, neither pretends any longer: she begs him not to say it aloud, he says it anyway, and they leave for the car to talk somewhere quiet. There he calls himself her sister's boyfriend and also the only person who understands her, and neither says that it is wrong without also staying.
