Where the run starts

In a city apartment advertised at the cheapest rent around, Jake answers a listing that mentions only chill roommates. He arrives broke, hopeful and a little suspicious. The two women who live there, Sienna and Mia, are friendly, relaxed about boundaries and quick to say they are glad he moved in. Within hours Jake overhears a bet over who gets him into bed first, with the loser covering his rent. He wants to keep the room and his dignity. They want to win. He decides to let them think the game is theirs. A hallway, a thin wall and a lease are the pieces on the board.

Episodes 1 and 2

By the close of the first episode, Jake has chosen to hide that he heard the bet, and the contest is officially on. Halfway through the second, both women make direct moves: Mia is next door and available, Sienna suggests that she and Jake would have far more fun, and each warns the other off. By the end, Sienna announces that she is finishing this tonight, and Mia replies that she does not lose either.
