Where the run starts

Beside a pool at a large private house, Nate is told by his boss, speaking from abroad, to keep watch over his wife Lucy for the seven days he is away. The pay is generous, more than the husband once spent on her birthday. The husband will call every night at ten and expects a report. Lucy, who knows exactly what the arrangement is worth, changes into a red swimsuit as soon as her husband's car is gone and asks Nate what he intends to tell her husband. He answers that she is behaving.

Episodes 1 and 2

By the close of the first episode, the husband has changed the plan, telling Nate to stay at the house overnight because Lucy gets scared alone, and Nate is in the guest room beside hers with instructions to leave his door open. Lucy says the guest room will not be needed. Two episodes in, the husband calls and sends Nate to look in on his wife in her bedroom, and Nate is standing there when Lucy asks if he has come only to look in or to remain, while the husband waits on the line.
